Cyberwarfare Going Mainstream?

According to a report on CNN.com, the security vendor community is anticipating an increase in “cyberwarfare” activity in 2013, with critical infrastructure taking the brunt of the attention (from attackers and the media both).

According to the article, “The Obama administration and many in Congress have been more vocal about how an enemy nation or a terrorist cell could target the country’s critical infrastructure in a cyberattack. Banks, stock exchanges, nuclear power plants and water purification systems are particularly vulnerable, according to numerous assessments delivered to Congress last year.”

With security vendors jumping so forcefully into the discussion, this piece should be read with an open mind and a finely tuned FUD detector.
