BASIC – Cybersecurity Career Pathways

Summary

The Building Apprenticeship Systems in Cybersecurity (BASIC) project, funded by the Closing the Skill Gap grant by the Department of Labor, will address the acute shortage of cyber security technicians, analysts, engineers, and managers in the advanced manufacturing and clean energy industries. BASIC will build a comprehensive sector-based ecosystem centered around articulated apprenticeship career pathways.

    • Enhance current apprenticeships by adding critical Cybersecurity Competencies to training programs
    • Develop formalized training pathways focused on developing skilled practitioners
    • Arranging for college credit
    • Develop an articulated Career Pathway from Apprenticeship to Cybersecurity Master’s Degree

This workforce program is funded 70% ($3,977,088) by a grant awarded by the US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration; and 30% ($1,789,690) from non-federal entity resources.
